Decision Time
It seems like our vacations, particularly in the mountains are always a time to evaluate where we are as a family. Away from the craziness of life, we seem to stop, slow down and ask ourselves "are we where we want to be as a family?" "Where do we want to be next year?" "What are the issues in our lives that weigh on us?"
This year has been the same. Asking those questions, praying about the answers. There is something about just stopping. Stopping, reflecting, reading, praying. More and more I am convinced that the family is perhaps the greatest task we may undertake on this earth. Work is trivial in importance compared with the responsibility of nurturing a family in love with our Lord, and a marriage relationship that is more than superficial. The rewards are so much greater than anything the "office" could bestow on me. What compares to a daughter who is in love with her dad, or a wife who is truly the best friend I could ever hope to have. All surrounded by the grace and love of our Lord.
